Ford Kuga 2.5i PHEV ST-LINE X EDITION  - When we was planning this trip it was on the back of rising fuel prices and we knew we would have to cover a long way.  For a scuba road trip like this we would not just need load carrying capacity but a car we knew offers comfort and fuel economy, With charging points network still devloping there really was one choice.  The Ford Kuga 2.5 PHEV ST-LINE X EDITION!  The car full to the brim with a paddleboard, 4 dive clynders, weights, dive kit, paddleboarding kit, semi dry suits, drone and luggage somehow it all went in.   Our first port of call was Seahoses on the North East coast in Northumberland for diving at the Farnes.  However, there was a problem! A storm had arrived and meant the next diving would be at the other side of the country near Carlisle Caperwray Diving Centre. The next day back at Seahoses we dived at the Farne Islands as planned then travelled further north to the south west coast of Scotland to Loch Long which would be our next dive site before heading home.

Again this trip the Ford Kuga was the right choice!  over 1340 miles done, on average 50MPG we were charging the car batteries as we drove on petrol then when we had built up 20 miles of charge switch over to 100% electric then so on.  A flat 8 hours drive home and it was effortless in the Kuga ST.  It really was the right car for an amazing diving paddleboarding trip!
